Christmas Safety For Your Dog

Tis the season to be into tinsel and Christmas trees. The Holidays are here and as we are putting up our favorite ornament or singing our favorite carol to the radio, we forget that fido is watching and waiting for the time we are off our guards. The tree alone may be a hazard if sprayed with flock or pesticides and is very poisonous if licked or swallowed. Your dog may get under that freshly cut tree and drink the water thus making it hazardous if the tree has been treated to stay fresh longer. Lights also can short circuit if  chewed on potentially causing a fire.
Broken ornaments if knocked off can be very dangerous if ingested. Is there any help for all of this? Fortunately YES there is! They make doggie  pens to put around your tree much like a playpen for children. If your dog is prone to mischief and won't stay away this might be the option for you! Think about how sad you or your child may feel if their present became a chew toy! Wrapping paper may be like newspaper and seem very attractive as well as those pretty candy canes and cookies left to be eaten sneakily. A ounce of prevention is always a good idea for peace on earth and good will towards pooches!
